Average Golf Score

Want To Lower Your Golf Score?
It is the age old struggle. How do you lower your golf score? There are so many components to a good golf game that it is not easy to pinpoint one way to lower your golf score. You can improve your drives, irons, approach, sand shots, and putting. Very few of us are absolutely confident in all aspects of our game, but there is one area that you can focus on to achieve a lower score the quickest. Putting.
The reason that putting is so important, is because you putt more than any other type of golf shot. Lets see. You drive the ball maybe 12-14 times in a round. Iron shots might account for another 16-20 strokes. Your approach shots probably amount to 18 or so. Putting? Putting will, in most cases, account for at least 36-45 strokes! This is assuming your an average golfer. This simply goes to show where the best place to lower your golf score is.
It is unfortunate that most casual golfers spend far less time practicing putting than they do driving the ball. I would never suggest you stop any kind of practice, but think about giving your putter an equal shot in the practice game. Its not going to blow anyone away if you make a few more putts in a round like it would to drive the ball 300 yards straight down the faraway, but your score at the end of the round will show the difference.
If you have been just wishing you could break 90 on a consistent basis, the best way to do that is consistent putting. For all of us casual golfers, it can be very satisfying to go from shooting 94, or 92, or 101, to shooting 88, 85, or even 83. It can all be accomplished with a little more focus on the putting game. With a combination of practice, and a strong mental game, your putting will improve, and you will lower your golf score.
Don’t let your buddies keep beating you by 3 or 4 strokes. Surprise them with a great round of putting, and a score that you can be proud of.
