How long will a new golf driver last?
How many rounds (or years) will a new driver last? Does it depend on the brand?
Frank Thomas, former Technical Director (the equipment tester guy) at USGA for 26 years, says that a titanium driver starts losing its trampoline effect after 6,000 to 10,000 hits at 100 mpg. Depending on how much you play and practice, the driver will last a few years of intense recreational use or longer for infrequent usage.
